SUMMER PROGRAMS
We will work on your garden, typically each week during the growing seasons of March to November, mowing, weeding, and trimming. We will use our mowers and rollers to get your lawns looking beautiful, with neat edges along flowerbeds, paths, and fences. Weeds will also be removed from paved and graveled areas like paths, driveways, and patios. Hedges and shrubs will be trimmed and kept under control when they are growing at their fastest. You will get to enjoy beautiful gardens in the summer months while leaving all the hard work to us.
WINTER PROGRAMS
We can maintain a less regular presence during fall and winter. Flower beds will be mulched to retain moisture and prevent the growth of weeds. Lawns will be spiked for aeration, scarified, weeded, and fertilized. New shrubs and trees are planted while existing shrubs and trees are pruned. All these winter maintenance works will keep everything tidy and looking its best.

PEST CONTROL
In dealing with insects and other pests, we follow Integrated Pest Management (IPM) guidelines. These state that biological pest control methods like pheromone traps should be used first. We only use chemical pesticides as a last resort after working through IPM procedures. IPM is a best practice method recommended by the British Columbia Landscape and Nursery Association (BCLNA).
DEALING WITH WASTE

Vegetation Control
Controlling vegetation is a specialty of Greenworks Landscaping. You may have vegetation that needs mowing or cutting back like grass and shrubs. Or weed vegetation, which can be unsightly and sometimes dangerous. We can either keep them under control or remove them completely.
Mowing
We can keep open areas like lawns under control using a range of mowing equipment, depending on the terrain.
Invasive Plant Removal
Many types of weedy vegetation grow fast in the warmer months and become increasingly difficult to eradicate. They can form tickets of strong weeds. They take over grassy areas and replace the grass. Their seeds can spread and last for years in the soil. Prevention is better than cure, and removal at the earliest opportunity is the best course of action.
Dangerous Weeds
Thorny weeds can grow and hang across footpaths at eye level. The thorns can scratch the faces or eyes of people passing by. Giant hogweed has toxic sap that can burn, blister and scar the skin. This can happen from just touching microscopic hairs on its stems or leaves. Other vegetation on banks, ditches and swale bottoms is trimmed back using mechanical equipment. Approved herbicides are used to control weeds in certain cases.
Vegetation Disposal
We take care to dispose of waste materials from our clearance works. Leaves, grass cuttings, complete weeds, twigs and bark are all taken to local facilities where they are converted into sterile compost which is free of weed seeds and pathogens.
