Task 1: Complexity Scale
Background of the feasibility of having a metric for complexity
For a long time, it has been a challenge knowing whether a metric of complexity is possible. Much consideration has been given to the idea of having a continuous dynamical system that is created by action.
There is also consideration given to the set of actions that are to be associated with the decomposition. These are thought of as the DNA sequencing, which identifies the various physical dynamics. Encoded in these dynamics is information pertaining to the group symmetries and also the topology in the dynamical attractors.
Claim about which metric system would be best for complexity
The metric of the dynamical system can consist of a hierarchy that is specified by the volume of cliques that are interacting at a single time. This is the order of the hierarchy. Also, the sizes of the cliques will be indicative of how the specification occur. This is linked closely with the general decomposition of what is measured in the interactive wavelet, which is based on the renormalization into the basic excitations of the dynamics.
It should also be noted, that on a more specific scale, the recent mathematical advances pertaining to the group invariant scatting — as well as the way it relates to the wavelet based renormalization, path integrals and the invariant actions — are important factors in this metric system. The approach has been used and has been met with great results. The performance in classifying the imagery texture was efficient. There is potential that is could be related to the path integrals, as well as the subsequent iterative wavelet that is based on renormalization.
In the end, there could be a yield of invariant actions that are associated with the Langrangian, which are not suffering from the basic divergence problems that have been connected with the classic Wilson style of the renormalization. Many of the issues that arise are formed on the path integrals, which include the data assimilation, texture identification, biology, finance and various other problems that are associated with physics, that the method has a lot of potential to be applied is various situations.
Estimate how the scale would appear in relation to the other 3 scales related to space, time and mass
The scale would appear differently in relation to the other 3 scales related to space, time and mass by being longer. Without needing to account for space, time and mass, there would essentially be a limitless scale, as the endless amount of invariant actions there are. The considerations for this scale are far less limited in scope than are the factors that play into the three other scales.
The scale would be far less limited in terms of what it could be applied to. For example, the space, time and mass of a flea would have very predetermined factors that would decide the final outcome. However, with the complexity metric there would be far less restraints.
Task 2: Compare and contrast memetics with genetics in scientific theory
Discussion of the feasibility of a scientific theory of technology based on memetics.
Technology is so engrained in culture and so it can be addressed based on a memetic standpoint. There are various artefacts that have been discussed as the main issues in the discussion about the three main currents that are contained in memetics. This is a different take in the respective definitions that are contained within the phemotypes and the memotypes. In the basic forms, the cognitive memetics that are in relation to artefacts as being the phemotypes. For example, there is the phenorypic expressions that are detailed in the memetic genotypes and this consists of the various mental representations. These can be called the phemotypic theory of technology.
In this memotypic theory of technology, there is the idea that being the behaviouralist memetics. But there is also the material culture that is to be taken into consideration, and this is really the genotypic blueprint, by which there is concept that forms about the phemotypes and how they are generated.
Outline of 3 memetic theories of technology and compare memetics with genetics in scientific theories
One of the three is the universal Darwinism. This is a theory that is based on taking the various features of the peculiar to the genes and the organism. These are typically associated with the concrete material from which they are built. This also takes into consideration the roels that are played by both the phenotypes and genotypes, so there is consideration given to the genetics in this scientific theory. This theory takes a look at evolution in two different ways. First, there is the replication, which is the process where the genes are copied form a single generation to the next. The entity that comes out of that is called the replicator. Second, there is the econogical interaction, which is the relationship between the organism and the surroundings. This includes other organisms, and this is based on replication, and there is a great enough difference between each generation that there is enough opportunity for mutation.
There is also the phemotypic approach, which is based on the ideas, catch-phrases, clothes and music. These are often the most abstract concepts. Also, the process is different from the result, similar to how catch-phrases are unique and a representation of what an individual says. However, there is word sequence that is more abstract and it can be repeated many times by many different people.
Finally, there is the neuromemetic approach, which is a configuration that is contained within a node in a neural net that can induce a replication of its own state into other nodes. The node is deemed to be a neuron, or multiple neurons in a set, that are in a state of cause that can be put on the other neuron or set of multiple neurons to obtain that set.
Decision on which theory is the most possible
The more possible is the phemotypic approach. This is an approach that we see every day in pop-culture, so we know that it is very real.
