Trish
For Trish, executive conflict coaching would work best. When she is better able to handle conflicts, she will be happier at her job and more motivated to do well. She is a person who finds it difficult to get along with other in her office, and she is often in conflict. The executive conflict coaching strategy is preferable to the workshop conflict coaching because Trish is the type of person who can work better on her own. Executive coaching also often involves an alliance between the coach and the client. This includes the need to assess the way in which the coach and client are interacting. This is called an “alliance check.” The check allows the client to gain an understanding of why the coaching has been requested, if the client isn’t the one who made the request. This process is a precursor to moving on with the coaching experience. At this point, the client is able to decide whether they want to move on with coaching, or stop the process because they don’t like the coach and would either prefer to see a different coach, or they don’t want to be coached at all, (Jones, 2007). [Need an essay writing service? Phil
Phil needs to be challenged more at his job. He seems to be overqualified and so either promoting him or finding more work for him to do would likely be the best course of action. Of course, a pay increase would be warranted because of the extra responsibility, if he is given extra work. However, there may be room in the company for him to move up in the near future. That is speculative, however, because the person who is above him has expressed interest in moving on, but an exact time hasn’t been given. Phil is already showing that he is very capable in that higher role and so there shouldn’t be an issue when the transition comes. Jeremy
Jeremy is doing well in his position, and it seems he is currently challenged enough in his job. However, he is relatively new to his position and an evaluation of his work hasn’t been completed. He seems to be learning well, but more time is needed before deciding what type of motivational plan should be put in place. However, a general plan that can be arranged for many new employees could be put into action. This plan should take into consideration Jeremy’s commitment, it seems, to stay with the company for a long period of time. He should be gradually introduced to higher positions so that he is motivated to perform well and to aim for those positions.
