Serious Problems Associated with The Internet and Solutions

Today it is evident that the internet has a significant impact on every person. The internet has dramatically taken over various roles in society and enhanced them. The battle with the internet is a continuous process that will bring new problems each day (IvyPanda, 2019). This primary impact results from web utilization, which seems quite common among younger generations due to harmonious and expected innovation. Today’s world is dependent on the internet, and having laptops in the work environment at school allows for significant efficacy and convenience. Internet innovation has advanced to the level where safety intellect is broadly utilized. Hence, the internet permits efficient interaction and exchange of any beneficial or harmful data. The internet has a hazardous effect on an individual’s life. This article investigates the real-world consequences of technology on consumers and the solutions to the problem (IvyPanda, 2019).

Loose Content Regulation

Because data on the Web is not censored, it is possible to find objectionable and unpleasant content on the internet. The technology can access obscene materials, nude photographs, and data on phishing, constructing explosives, producing narcotics, and attempting suicide (IvyPanda, 2019). There are further risks that the Web will be misused by those who wish to circulate rumors or fake data to generate public panic. Controlling information published beyond Hong Kong could challenge the internet’s diverse nature. The Regulation of Pornographic material and Inappropriate Publications Act now regulates the material of local periodicals. The legislation must be reconsidered in light of the public’s unfettered access to electronic and online data via the internet.

Certainly, a balance must be struck between oversight and unrestricted accessibility to information. In the U.s, the Federal Telecommunications Act of 1995 was proposed in Parliament to protect the community from abusing the communications system and communication equipment and infrastructure. Anyone caught making, transmitting, or making accessible indecent, sexual, pornographic, dirty, immoral, or threatening messages utilizing communication equipment and resources in Columbia or national or overseas connections would be prosecuted (IvyPanda, 2019).

Copyright Infringement

Because of its very structure, the internet raises a slew of copyright difficulties. The copyright regulations of the U.s cover a large portion of the information found on the Web. Modern tech lets users view, post, and acquire simple messages and photographs, videos, programs, musical compositions, and audiovisual holds up via the internet. These works are indisputably safeguarded in traditional physical channels, and any duplication would involve copyright infringement within national rules. Nevertheless, it is unclear if such compositions are equally safeguarded in the online internet world (Lee et al., 2018).

The solutions to copyright infringement include injunctions, impoundment and destruction, damages, criminal penalties, and court costs. A copyright holder can pursue a temporary or permanent injunction preventing or stopping violation in the future (Lee et al., 2018). Tribunals usually issue lifelong injunctions when authority is proved, and there is a risk of consistent transgression. When a case begins, the tribunals have the administration order the confinement of violating commodities. The tribunal could also mandate eliminating or any other appropriate liquidation of the violating products as a component of an ultimate ruling. Tribunals have the authority to grant sensible lawyer fees to the priors in definite situations, including the rehabilitation of full tribunal expenses by or toward any person. On the other hand, claimant copyright owners cannot be granted expenses and lawyers’ fees if they have licensed their works with the united states Copyright department reasonably (Lee et al., 2018).

Data Security

On the Web, communication frequently takes place across national borders. Data is transferred through communications connections and directed from one channel to another before reaching its location in such circumstances. As a result, the safety of private and personal corporate information exchanged over the internet is a major problem. The Telecommunications Act provides some level of immunity. Further precautions should be thoroughly considered and incorporated in the current assessment of the Communications Law. The Individual Information Bill must also be examined to see if it includes operators and other businesses acquiring, storing, and utilizing personal information such as usernames and billing information. The Bill’s description of “information” does not appear to embrace electronic information carried across communication systems, and this has to be looked into further. The general population should be well-informed about the dangers of transmitting information online. Consumers should be educated on encryption mechanisms to ensure their safety. Consider whether or not a code of conduct for communications company operators to safeguard data safety and confidentiality should be developed (Howells, 2020).

Consumer Protection

Consumer protection in the information technology sector has undergone a crucial transformation because of technological changes. Consumers may now enjoy a range of systems and products, including e-commerce, digital banking facilities, social networks, health, and education, thanks to technological advancements, particularly the arrival of the internet and, greater particularly, mobile internet (Howells, 2020). The main customer issues in the age of voice-only consumers were tariffs, audio quality, and safeguarding individual data acquired by network providers. Therefore, to counter this challenge, consumer protection regulations are applied. Several particular consumer safety acts supplement the general safeguard provided by tort and contract legislation. Unfair trading practices, for example, are prohibited by government legislation. In addition, Parliament passes legislation on various areas, including odometer manipulation. These rules help consumers in multiple ways, but hardly one would call them a solution. Customers continue to confront various issues notwithstanding these regulations (Howells, 2020).
