Case Conceptualization Essay

Introduction

The portfolio describes learning activities and outcomes that I have covered in the course. It contains the details of projects and assignments done. Also, the portfolio explains the challenges I encountered in designing some of the projects like curriculum vitae and other technical descriptions. Illustratively, some of the setbacks met have solutions that I used to overcome them that are also part of this portfolio as it explains procedures and steps that I undertook to solve emerging issues during the course. Moreover, the portfolio is a representation of the new insights and knowledge that I gained in the course through the creation of projects and doing assignments while amicably sorting challenges associated with them. As an assessment tool, portfolios contain guidelines that when followed, make work easier in the course of studies (Ling, 2016). Thus, this portfolio is designed as a single document that captures every important coursework detail that summarizes every area covered for eases of identification and evaluation.

The purpose of this portfolio is to compile my academic work in the form of educational evidence to evaluate coursework quality (Ling, 2016). Since quality is confirmed through analysis of the course contents, the portfolio gives a link for doing so. Illustratively, determination of whether I will meet the course expectations, my learning progress, and academic achievement are anchored in the portfolio as a single brief document. Additionally, my accomplishments, attributes, skills, and experiences are shared through the portfolio making an assessor know my capabilities in various fields covered (Ling, 2016). It highlights and showcases samples of some of your best work, along with life experiences, values, and achievements.

Learning Outcomes

I was able to successfully gain skills in writing job letters, resumes, technical descriptions, technical instructions, and usability reports. The lessons learned in class and practical assignments given in groups and at individual levels were instrumental in shaping my knowledge and skills in how to make commendable curriculum vitae alongside cover letters that can be used in future application of employment opportunities. Also, my abilities to conduct technical descriptions, to design technical instructions, the skills to make usability reports were sharpened through the course materials and learning sessions. Group discussions, videotapes, and lecture notes assisted me in the practical aspects of knowledge generation and transfer. I was able to share my experiences with fellow students through the exchange of ideas and exercises to ensure that I understand the basics of each topic and their demands. Moreover, the use of videotapes offered practical insight and approaches to the tasks while lecture notes were impactful for revision of work during personal study time. Coursework presentation also enabled me to garner information about usability reports when different students periodically took to stage to present their works. It facilitated the acquisition of knowledge from other people’s work through observation while listening skills were useful in learning technical observation during the course. Ultimately, I was able to define, design, and craft the portfolio tools in the form of letters, resume instructions, and reports that were all useful in an application for my future professional life.

Project Challenges & Learning Experience

Learning the topic was challenging as it was difficult to grasp the steps of creating every document from the beginning. Understanding their necessity and steps of making each could not easily allow me to make them when I first learned about them. Notably, differentiating them was not easy. For instance, resume and curriculum vitae had almost related formats were created confusion. Completion of the technical document was a hard task due to the insightful and deeper thoughts that it required. Technical tasks require complex mentalities that are capable of rising beyond their daunting aspect (Little-Wienert & Mazziotti, 2018). It was difficult to organize work, make advanced preparation, show proof of scholarship, and document self-reflection. The setbacks in such reorganization made it hard to accomplish my mission. Moreover, since establishing a portfolio that rhymes with my academic belief required careful consideration as described by (Little-Wienert & Mazziotti, 2018), the whole process was hectic and time-consuming.

Despite the challenges met, the process had several experiences worth for my academic journey. I was able to learn the necessities of technical reports, instructions, and documents. Notably, designing and getting their final drafts require careful considerations which is a greater experience than I gained and that prepared me for future tasks that may be complex. Also, the experience was worth sharing with others who may face the same difficulty. The final drafts only required changes in their format to meet standardized expectations and to be more presentable. It would be critical to make acceptable documents in the future given proper time and resources by conducting in-depth research and more practical work.
