- Mobility disability is related to vision impairment, including blindness. In a situation where one is unable to see and still experiencing Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), that means they still have to reckon with concentrating on classwork and organizing their overall academic life, including socializing with fellow students (Jenn, 2014).
- Intellectual disability is associated with a deficiency in adaptive behavior. According to Jenn, an individual with ADHD finds it hard to focus on many things at a go. In a different state, one can catch up quickly in a normal class, hence positively affecting their overall educational performance (Jenn, 2014).
- Speech or language impairment is attributed to either impaired articulation, stuttering, or voice impairment. The ability to effectively communicate one’s emotional and psychological needs allows them not to be misunderstood, which puts ADHD students in a compromising state where they need to project their views (Jenn, 2014).
2- List two interventions that you think are important for the designated disability category. Briefly indicate why you think each is important.
- Verbal descriptions involving visual aids and providing suitable lighting in teaching classes. These accommodations allow the affected student to at least capture what is being taught and be at per with the rest of his or her peers.
- Allow for breaks within lessons and scheduling tests that cut across all students’ categories. Such a move ensures everyone gets equal representation.
- Developing an accommodative and interactive communication platform in class. Such a setting allows the speech impaired students to confidently and effectively communicate their emotional and psychological needs.

1-List one ‘bottom line’ idea regarding the designated disability category that you think is most important for you to remember for your work as an educator.
Intellectual disability forms part of the most important disability category to me. This is because even though the intellectual capability of someone can be questionable, they equally possess other strengths and abilities in other areas of life, such as in specific extra curriculum activities. Therefore, one should not look down or pity such individuals based on one angle of life.
